virtue of Muslim Mindanao Act (MMA) 154 enacted into law by the Regional Legislative Assembly (RLA) in 2003. When fully operational, the ecozone will boost the region’s economic activity, thus spurring growth. Investments coming in, and locators in the free port will create jobs for our people.

While some technical aspects are being ironed out to realize the operation of REZA, there are still some vital concerns that must be reviewed and evaluated thoroughly. Budgetary constraints is an essential factor that must be looked at, and some other seemingly small things that could greatly affect or deter its actual operationalization must be properly addressed.

The REZA as of the moment undergoes thorough review of its plan and how to make this plan work, said Atty. Lao.
