PNP-AVSEGROUP supports Government's Bayanihan Repatriation Program
The Philippine National Police under the leadership of Chief, PNP, Police General Archie Francsico F Gamboa directed Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) under PBGen Crizaldo O Nieves to fully support the Bayanihan Repatriation Program; “One-Stop Shop” for OFWs and returning Filipinos which is a whole-of-government effort of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Office for Transportation Security (OTS), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) and Philippine Red Cross.
PBGen Nieves said, “The PNP AVSEGROUP will assist in the operation of The One- Stop Shop at NAIA Terminals catering repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Overseas Filipinos (OFs), who will undergo mandatory quarantine procedures and provide them with security/mobile escorts in going to their quarantine facilities to prevent the spread of corona virus (COVID19).”
He said that the public should also be aware that besides the contactless security check at the terminals, a new normal health check will also be conducted. Upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the arriving passengers are subjected to Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction or RT-PCR testing conducted by PCG and Philippine Red Cross, where they will submit their case investigation forms and undergo specimen collection for COVID-19, after which, they will be assisted by OWWA for their quarantine facilities. The PCG and PNP AVSEGROUP will escort them to their designated quarantine facilities where they are strictly advice to comply with quarantine measures while waiting for their swab test results and quarantine clearances, before they can go home to their respective families.
PBGen Nieves also said, “The PNP AVSEGROUP is continuously coordinating with the airport authorities for the preparation of the full operation of the airports nationwide adopting the new normal. Our unit will see to it that implementation of all health protocols will be observed amid the fight against the coronavirus disease pandemic such as wearing of mask and thermal scanning upon entry of passengers in the terminals, and strictly observance of social distancing.
With God’s help we will be able to overcome this, as we stand as one, we will come out victorious.”
